Leading Semiconductor Manufacturer Turns to Camstar for World-Class Multi-site Final Manufacturing Operations

(September 2, 2004) - Camstar Systems, Inc, a leading provider of enterprise manufacturing execution and quality management systems, today announced that Advanced Micro Devices (NYSE: AMD) is replacing its existing Manufacturing Execution System (MES) with Camstar's InSite™ application suite for test, assembly and packaging operations at its five world-class manufacturing facilities in Singapore, Penang and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, Suzhou, China and Bangkok, Thailand. Technology Resources Group (TR-Group), one of the leading system integrators for the semiconductor automation market and a Camstar partner, will provide professional services for this implementation.

AMD will use InSite / Semiconductor Edition tightly integrated into its patented fab automation capabilities known collectively as Automated Precision Manufacturing (APM). With InSite, AMD will improve real-time visibility within its manufacturing operations, enabling it to react faster and with more flexibility to customer demand and improve the ramp-up of new product production.
